Valencia started her journey with the beauty industry in Virginia almost 20 years ago. After graduation/certification, she went on to work for several local salons in the Richmond area. She was also VERY fortunate to train with and briefly work under the hair guru and International Ambassador for Paul Mitchell Salon and Products, Floyd Kenyatta. After a few years of hairstyling and cutting, Valencia decided to take her career in a different direction by working in the cosmetic industry. She worked for and with Adrien Arpel Cosmetics and ran the very first Adrien Arpel Esthetician salon in Richmond,Va. She later went on to work for Fashion Fair Cosmetics, winning counter of the year for 3 years. She worked as a Business Manager and freelance make-up artist for Lancome, and also had the great pleasure to work a promotion with Lancome International Make-Up Artist, Ross. Valencia loved the cosmetic industry but couldn't resist returning to her first love, hairstyling - this time, as an extension specialist. After attending several classes and seminars, Valencia decided to start Hair By Valencia and concentrate on applying and perfecting the art of strand by strand extensions. Since then, she has extended her services to include custom hair texturizing, extension pre-tipping services and training programs. To date, Valencia's clientèle has included a range of women - from international attorneys, NFL cheerleaders, models, and the everyday woman. She also has clients fly in from across, and even outside of, the U.S. Valencia has vowed to continue to make the world beautiful one client at a time...
